Student Check-In


Incoming Residents can check-in starting Thursday, August 24, 2017

(*Incoming Residents attending Bible Bridge, Smart Start, Torrey Orientation, or Global Student Orientation will be sent instructions by those departments with instructions regarding their early arrival move-in dates.)


Thursday, August 24: 8am-11pm Check-In **(Incoming Students ONLY)**

  • ResHalls: Your Hall Office
  • Thompson/Apartments: The Housing Office

Friday, August 25: 8am-11pm Check-In (Continuing and Incoming Students)

  • ResHalls: Your Hall Office
  • Apartments: The Housing Office

Saturday, August 26: 10am-11pm Check-In (Continuing and Incoming Students)

  • ResHalls: Your Hall Office
  • Apartments: The Housing Office

Sunday, August 27: 1pm-7pm, 8-10pm Check-In (Continuing and Incoming Students)

  • ResHalls & Apartments: At Housing Office


**All students must check-in by noon on Monday, August 28th OR notify the Housing Office in advance in writing of a late check-in


Suggested Arrival Times

In order to avoid major traffic (and hallway) congestion, we recommend you check-in at your Residence Hall during the following suggested times based on what floor you are living on:

Floors 2 & 4: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Floors 1, 3, & 5: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

All Floors: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

ID Card Pickup


Incoming Students may obtain a Biola Student ID card from the Student Services building during the following times:

  • Thursday, August 24: 8am-6pm
  • Friday, August 25, 8am-6pm
  • Closed on Saturday, August 26
  • Closed on Sunday, August 27
  • Monday, August 28 -- Friday, September 1: 8am-4:30pm (normal business hours)

Student ID cards are used to enter Residence Halls, the cafeteria and other dining venues, the library, campus gates, and some buildings. Student ID cards are used to pay for meal plans and use student dollars or Flex dollars at the dining venues.

ID cards may not be activated until after the student completes Enrollment.

Students must provide a government photo ID in order to obtain a Student ID card (drivers license, learning permit [with photo], passport).

Fall Meal Plans start on Thursday, August 23rd (Opening Day).

Parking On-Campus


Parking permits are issued Monday, August 28 -- Wednesday, September 6 by Campus Safety.

Campus Safety will begin citing on (Date TBD).

Driving Directions for Arriving


Depending on where your Hall is located, you may use a different entrance to Biola's campus:

Lower Campus (Hart, Stewart, and Hope Halls):

  1. Drive onto campus from Biola Ave. entrance.
  2. Parking in Temporary Unloading Parking nearest your residence hall in Lot G.
  3. Check-in to your residence hall with your Residence Life Staff (bring a valid Biola or Government-issued ID with you).
  4. Unload your vehicle.
  5. Move your car to long-term parking in Parking Structure S (between the baseball and soccer fields).
  6. Return to your room and move-in/unpack.

Upper Campus (Alpha, Blackstone, Horton, and Sigma):

  1. Drive onto campus from La Mirada Blvd. entrance.
  2. Parking in Temporary Unloading Parking nearest your residence hall in Lot L and the lower levels of Parking Structure K.
  3. Check-in to your residence hall with your Residence Life Staff (bring a valid Biola or Government-issued ID with you).
  4. Unload your vehicle.
  5. Move your car to long-term parking in the upper levels of Parking Structure K, Lot M, N, or R (below the soccer field).
  6. Return to your room and move-in/unpack.

Airport Shuttles


Biola is not able to provide rides to campus from the airport, but there are many local companies that provide shuttle service to/from all the major nearby airports.
